About the role

  • AWS Practice Lead helping Percona customers optimize open-source databases and infrastructure on AWS. Building services, partnerships, revenue, and a growing AWS consulting practice.

Responsibilities

  • Help customers maximize open-source databases running on AWS and the broader AWS ecosystem
  • Provide architectural guidance across surrounding infrastructure when it affects database performance, cost, or reliability
  • Offer strategic advice and direct assistance with complex implementations and migrations
  • Advocate for customer outcomes and recommend the technically appropriate solution
  • Help existing AWS customers improve performance, optimize costs, and adopt additional AWS or Percona services
  • Support customers migrating to AWS and ensure Percona support and services transition with them
  • Advise internal Percona teams on software and service improvements for AWS customers
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Partnership team on AWS co-sell motions, partner programs, and joint go-to-market
  • Drive revenue, profitability, subscription contribution, partnership revenue, and customer satisfaction for the AWS Practice
  • Build Percona's presence through content creation, professional networking, and speaking engagements
  • Design professional service offerings and packages
  • Enable Sales and Marketing through technical campaigns, pre-sales support, and deal assistance
  • Hire and mentor a dedicated AWS Practice team

Requirements

  • Deep, real expertise in the AWS ecosystem
  • Hands-on experience with open-source databases running on AWS
  • Experience with AWS services and ecosystem components including EKS, Aurora, RDS, ElastiCache, and MSK
  • Significant hands-on experience with open-source database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, and Redis / Valkey
  • Senior technical advisory, architecture, consulting, or pre-sales customer experience
  • Ability to provide technically grounded recommendations, including when AWS is not the appropriate solution
  • Ability to architect migration assessments, cost optimization reviews, and architecture audits
  • Ability to support pre-sales as a Solutions Architect
  • Ability to create technical content and speak at industry conferences and AWS-specific events
  • Ability to hire and mentor a dedicated AWS Practice team as the business scales
