About the role

  • Project Engineer leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts and ensuring project delivery at Peter Lucas Project Management. Engaging with diverse stakeholders and supporting various engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead during the design phase and primary contact for technical inquiries during construction and commissioning.
  • Manage engineering scope, schedule, and budget in alignment with overall project goals.
  • Coordinate and provide technical oversight for work carried out with external consultants; serve as engineering leader on work executed using internal resources.
  • Engage with stakeholders across departments and site teams to align project objectives and expectations.
  • Coordinate and lead design reviews with site personnel and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and feasibility.
  • Lead and support engineers and designers across disciplines to produce project deliverables.
  • Support procurement activities including tender document preparation, proposal evaluation, and post-award technical guidance.
  • Contribute to planning and funding requests with detailed engineering estimates and material takeoffs.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting on engineering activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) registered with APEGS.
  • 4-9 years of engineering experience, preferably in industrial or mining environments.
  • Proven experience managing engineering components of capital projects in a project-based environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering design and project management (an asset).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and locations.
  • WHMIS certification.
  • Preference for candidates located in or near Saskatoon, able to work in-office at least 2 days per week .
  • Ability to travel occasionally to northern sites.
