About the role
- Project Manager supporting bridge construction, inspections, estimating, and technical services for Pier Solutions. Coordinating projects, subcontractors, safety, schedules, and customer solutions in Saskatchewan.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple projects at a time, both on-site and from the office
- Assist with management of construction projects and provide technical services
- Develop proposals for various contract models
- Prepare estimates for quoted and tendered work
- Perform on-site labour to assist construction crews
- Manage schedules, materials, and subcontractors
- Aid in job cost tracking
- Prepare and submit environmental management plans
- Support the safety coordinator with daily and project-specific safety requirements
- Report on project progress and offer viable solutions and opportunities
- Submit and track RFIs, change orders, and site instructions
- Conduct bridge/structure inspections, maintenance plans, load ratings, and other design services
- Write technical reports and review proposals and estimates
- Communicate customer issues and devise ways to improve customer experience
- Resolve problems and complaints
- Report to the Director of Operations
- Take on additional responsibilities over time
Requirements
- Civil tech diploma or civil engineering degree
- At least three years of project management and/or bridge engineering experience is preferred
- At least five years of experience within the construction industry is preferred
- Some bridge experience is an asset, but not required
- Specialized training in timber structures is an asset, but not required
- Construction/carpentry experience is an asset, but not required
- Client-facing, internal, and written communication
- Planning, scheduling, budgeting, and estimating
- Conflict resolution
- Effective communication with trade contractors, citizens, and technical/design team
- Able to offer superb client experiences through effective management
- Ability to juggle many responsibilities in the field and at the office
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, and commitment to well-constructed projects
- Class 5 driver's license
