About the role

Senior Financial Reporting Analyst at Activate overseeing accurate financial reporting and reconciliation. Collaborating with finance, sales, and partners to identify process improvements in a tech company.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review month-end journal entries and reconciliations
Assist with the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances or discrepancies
Support the preparation of month-end financial statements and internal reports
Ensure timely and accurate posting of daily financial transactions in the accounting system
Support treasury activities such as monitoring cash balances, processing treasury transactions, and maintaining required documentation
Ensure compliance with treasury policies and internal controls
Review accounts payable transactions for accuracy and compliance
Support sales tax filings and ensure timely submissions
Assist with compliance activities related to accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
Support external audits and financial reviews by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and required documentation

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is required
At least 5 years of transferable work experience; minimum of 3 + years of related experience in accounting or finance roles; public accounting experience is an asset
Advanced Excel skills (including Power Query); ERP experience is an asset
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Strong experience with month-end close and financial reporting
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
