About the role
- Senior Financial Reporting Analyst at Activate overseeing accurate financial reporting and reconciliation. Collaborating with finance, sales, and partners to identify process improvements in a tech company.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review month-end journal entries and reconciliations
- Assist with the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances or discrepancies
- Support the preparation of month-end financial statements and internal reports
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of daily financial transactions in the accounting system
- Support treasury activities such as monitoring cash balances, processing treasury transactions, and maintaining required documentation
- Ensure compliance with treasury policies and internal controls
- Review accounts payable transactions for accuracy and compliance
- Support sales tax filings and ensure timely submissions
- Assist with compliance activities related to accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
- Support external audits and financial reviews by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and required documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is required
- At least 5 years of transferable work experience; minimum of 3 + years of related experience in accounting or finance roles; public accounting experience is an asset
- Advanced Excel skills (including Power Query); ERP experience is an asset
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Strong experience with month-end close and financial reporting
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
