About the role
- Senior QA Engineer II leading manual and automated testing for Prenuvo’s proactive healthcare scanning platform. Improving API, mobile, accessibility, CI/CD, and release quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead quality efforts for products supporting healthcare providers, patient workflows, and diagnostic reporting
- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers throughout the product development lifecycle
- Analyze requirements, architecture, interfaces, integrations, and dependencies to develop risk-based test strategies
- Define and improve quality standards, testing practices, and processes
- Create and maintain test strategies, plans, cases, and documentation
- Perform manual and automated testing of web and mobile applications, including exploratory, functional, acceptance, regression, end-to-end, and UI testing
- Advance test automation standards and coverage
- Test REST APIs and backend services for correctness, reliability, and resilience
- Identify, prioritize, document, and track defects and quality risks through resolution
- Lead root cause analysis and prevent defect recurrence
- Communicate test strategy, quality risks, release readiness, and tradeoffs to stakeholders
- Drive systemic quality and process improvements through completion
- Mentor engineers and team members on quality practices
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Evaluate applications against accessibility requirements including WCAG
- Contribute to performance and security testing based on product risk and team needs
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software quality assurance experience
- Demonstrated success leading quality initiatives across cross-functional and partner teams
- Deep knowledge of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and risk-based testing for complex systems
- Strong understanding of web and mobile technologies, client-server architecture, APIs, integrations, and system dependencies
- Hands-on experience testing native or cross-platform mobile applications on iOS and Android across devices, operating-system versions, screen sizes, and network conditions
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs and backend services
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java
- Experience developing or improving test automation frameworks, standards, coverage, reliability, and maintainability
- Experience using modern web or mobile automation frameworks and integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows
- Knowledge of accessibility testing and standards such as WCAG, with experience using Axe, Lighthouse, or screen readers
- Experience with defect tracking and test-management tools, such as Jira, in an Agile development environment
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Record of driving cross-functional quality or process improvements through completion
- Experience mentoring technical and non-technical colleagues and building quality capability across teams
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of hire without current or future employer visa sponsorship
- Successful completion of a background check
