About the role

  • Senior Software Architect shaping Prophix’s cloud financial performance management platform. Leading secure cloud architecture, modernization, AI-assisted development, and technical excellence for finance teams worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Lead evaluation and selection of technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns for platform scalability
  • Design secure, robust, and scalable cloud-native solutions from concept and prototyping through production
  • Provide strategic technology guidance to business units
  • Design and prototype across multiple technology stacks using AI coding tools such as Claude Code
  • Collaborate with architects and engineering teams on architecture initiatives, requirements, design decisions, and implementation standards
  • Contribute to agile teams delivering applications, features, and enhancements
  • Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote technical excellence
  • Advise on and participate in technical interviews for senior developer hires

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant software architecture or principal engineer experience in a SaaS or cloud-native product environment
  • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into software architecture for multi-tenant SaaS offerings
  • Understanding of inter-process communication, microservices design, and distributed infrastructure at scale
  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying secure cloud-native software
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and Terraform
  • Database management and optimization experience, including legacy-to-cloud database migrations
  • Working knowledge of backend technologies such as .NET and front-end technologies such as Angular
  • Proficiency with AI coding assistants and agentic development tools such as Claude Code
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for cloud-native and distributed systems
  • Strong communication and technical documentation abilities
  • Prior leadership experience including team management, code reviews, and technical mentorship
  • Right to work in Canada
  • Able to work from the Etobicoke, Ontario office
  • Must be legally entitled to work in the country where the role is located
  • Comfortable using AI tools responsibly for research, drafting, and data review
  • Able to learn new tools and adapt to evolving technology and workflows
  • Curiosity, openness to new approaches, and continuous-improvement mindset
  • Collaborative approach across teams and with AI-supported tooling
  • Preferred: internal AI/agent platform experience, identity and access management, Kubernetes, financial software/ERP/CPM/EPM, and M&A-driven platform convergence experience
