Responsibilities
- Determine, prioritize, and manage engineering deliverables across the complete software development lifecycle
- Partner with business stakeholders to refine technical product specifications
- Architect and deliver robust applications using high-performing, maintainable, clean code
- Streamline operational workflows and repetitive engineering tasks through automation scripts and tools
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and optimize complex software systems for high performance
- Execute validation and testing using test-driven development practices
- Conduct peer code reviews and participate in continuous-improvement feedback sessions
- Collaborate with internal engineering units and external partners to enhance solution architecture
- Keep application stacks aligned with modern technical standards and industry best practices
- Architect, build, and optimize scalable web applications in a Java-based microservices architecture
- Lead software development from design and API implementation through testing and performance optimization
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience
- Proven expertise developing performant, clean Java software across large-scale systems
- Hands-on experience architecting backend microservices with Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience building frontend interfaces with React, Angular, or Vue.js
- Technical proficiency with relational databases including MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful web API endpoints
- Experience with test-driven development and automated testing
- Experience using Generative AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot within Spec-Driven Development workflows
- Advanced mastery of Git version control
- Familiarity with DataDog and New Relic
- Experience with Selenium, Cypress, and RestAssured
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely aligned technical field
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, technical leadership, and cross-functional teamwork skills
- Self-directed and capable of driving initiatives with minimal guidance
- Nice to have: Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Ansible, Jenkins, Unix/Linux, IP networking, AWS, Microsoft Azure, OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect, multi-tenant SaaS, distributed systems, SOA, Python, Bash, Groovy, production support, site reliability escalation, and mentoring experience
