About the role

  • Disbursements Reviewer verifying settlement statements, lien searches, and reconciliations for RB Global’s global equipment marketplace. Supporting accounting teams on an 18-month contract.

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify lien search information and settlement statements prepared by settlement associates
  • Review and approve advances and inventory purchases
  • Verify and review annual files and keep the file summary sheet up to date
  • Reconcile settlement accounts, including auction proceeds payable, holdbacks, repairs and hauling, and repairs and maintenance, to the general ledger
  • Investigate and independently resolve discrepancies, or collaborate with settlement associates and sale site staff
  • Ensure appropriate authorizations comply with contractual obligations and company policy
  • Review and post Accounts Payable invoices and Accounts Receivable transactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work closely with the Disbursements Team and finance staff to support Ritchie Bros. accounting departments worldwide

Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience in accounting, banking, or lending, including reviewing files or work of other team members
  • Minimum of 2 years basic accounting experience
  • Experience with file/account reconciliations and timely presentation of essential reports
  • Knowledge of Canadian Securities Registration system (land, personal property and corporate registries) would be an asset
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience would be an asset
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to foster change when required
  • Demonstrated experience working well as a member of a team
  • Enrollment or intended enrollment in a professional accounting designation or accounting diploma program would be an asset
