About the role

  • Certified Dental Assistant supporting Peel Region’s Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program. Triaging dental needs, educating residents, and coordinating community oral-health services.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate residents’ access to public oral health programs
  • Triage urgent and emergency dental needs within the scope of a Level II CDA
  • Ensure high standards of client care and facilitate timely access to OSDCP services
  • Collaborate with the oral health team and community partners on case management and client navigation
  • Respond to public inquiries
  • Provide oral hygiene and care education
  • Promote awareness of the OSDCP and other dental programs in the community
  • Maintain accurate client records
  • Complete administrative duties and data entry into OHISS and other health databases
  • Travel to community settings across Peel Region for face-to-face care and community outreach

Requirements

  • Level II Certified Dental Assistant in good standing with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association
  • Current and valid CPR Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time clinical dental experience (or equivalent)
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
  • Knowledge and competence in infection prevention and control
  • Familiarity with Ontario Dental Association procedure codes and dental documentation practices
  • Valid ‘G’ driver’s license and daily access to a vehicle
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a client-first mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing work environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based setting
  • Understanding and respect for cultural, linguistic, and social diversity
  • Experience with OHISS, multilingual abilities, public health experience, and valid class D driver’s license or willingness to upgrade are assets
