About the role
- Legal Editor developing and managing French legal publications for LexisNexis Canada. Coordinating authors, editorial workflows, translations, and AI-supported content analysis.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate assigned online and print publications
- Follow up with authors to obtain manuscripts and updates in accordance with publishing schedules
- Recruit new authors and replace authors who withdraw
- Participate in the editorial process and the publication of French-language manuscripts
- Establish and maintain relationships with the legal community, including practitioners, academics, judges, librarians, and external partners
- Contribute to various translation projects
- Serve as a resource for authors and internal teams
Requirements
- Excellent command of French
- Excellent command of English
- Bachelor’s degree in law required
- Membership in the Barreau du Québec or the Chambre des notaires du Québec is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet publication deadlines
- Ability to build strong relationships and work on projects involving multiple teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in integrating artificial intelligence into workflows, including the daily use of large language models (LLMs) and AI tools
- Experience using LLMs and AI-enabled tools daily to support content and analysis, including iterating prompts to improve output quality and consistency
