About the role

  • Account Manager managing assigned client portfolios for an insurance and financial services provider. Coordinating business reviews, issue resolution, retention, and service growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with assigned clients on a daily basis.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and build lasting, trust-based relationships.
  • Understand clients’ businesses, challenges, objectives, and priorities in order to act as a business partner.
  • Plan, prepare, and lead periodic meetings, business reviews, and client follow-ups.
  • Define information requirements for business reviews and client reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams responsible for producing reports.
  • Coordinate client requests and needs with internal teams.
  • Follow up on commitments, requests, action plans, timelines, and service levels.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and proactively identify risks related to business relationships.
  • Implement initiatives that support client retention and loyalty.
  • Take ownership of client issues, coordinate their resolution, and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Gather and analyze client feedback to improve services and the client experience.
  • Identify emerging needs and opportunities to improve or adapt services.
  • Contribute to discussions regarding service evolution and account renewals.
  • Collaborate with VPs, managers, claims teams, legal departments, data analysts, risk management teams, brokers, suppliers, and partners.

Requirements

  • College or university education in business administration, management, insurance, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple client accounts, client relationships, or in a comparable role, ideally in the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management, client relations, or a comparable role.
  • Experience in a B2B environment.
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset.
  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written, to serve clients across Canada.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting, trust-based relationships.
  • Strong client focus and commitment to delivering a high-quality client experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand clients’ business challenges and act as a business partner.
  • Ability to influence and mobilize various stakeholders without direct supervisory authority.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and priority management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a changing environment.
  • Sound judgment, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations and maintain positive relationships while resolving issues.
  • Comfortable using technology and highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
