About the role
- Software Developer designing Java-based scanning and image-processing products at Ricoh’s Global Solutions Engineering team. Supporting scalable applications, testing, databases, and Americas-market implementations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements independently and evaluate third-party libraries to recommend technical approaches.
- Prepare functional specifications and perform detailed technical designs.
- Implement applications with reliability, scalability, and high performance in mind.
- Develop test cases and perform unit testing.
- Maintain and support client applications.
- Participate in database design and development.
- Design, implement, and customize scan-based products.
- Collaborate with developers on global teams and support delivery and implementation for the Americas market.
Requirements
- University degree or college diploma, preferably in Computer Science or an equivalent field
- Experience with Java
- Experience with networking protocols, e.g. HTTP, XML, JSON, SOAP, REST
- Scan/image processing knowledge
- Linux or UNIX experience is a strong asset
- C/C++/C# is an asset
- 2+ years of relevant software development experience
- Good communication and teamwork skills
