About the role

  • Spécialiste en ingénierie des matériaux de forgeage pour moteurs aéronautiques chez Pratt & Whitney Canada. Conseil technique sur matériaux, traitements thermiques, revêtements et fournisseurs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert advisor to designers, drafters, project engineers, and structural analysts
  • Support designers in selecting cast materials and aerospace-grade materials
  • Guide designers in selecting coatings based on engine function and operating environment, including erosion and corrosion considerations
  • Provide guidance on repair schemes and quality non-conformances
  • Research and respond to questions related to material properties
  • Design tests and manage logistics to characterize material properties
  • Review and approve drawings
  • Travel globally to suppliers for process reviews, Process Walks, and technical support
  • Prepare technical memos and specifications
  • Manage data and statistical analysis capabilities
  • Apply knowledge of aerospace certification requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Materials Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering, with 10 years of experience (flexible) in a field related to aerospace forging
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Adaptable, self-directed, and rigorous approach; willingness to learn and share knowledge
  • Very good command of English to read and understand documentation and technical terminology on a daily basis, and to write and communicate in English with international customers, suppliers, or colleagues
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
  • Ability to obtain the necessary authorizations to handle and transfer controlled goods
