About the role

Senior Logistics Manager leading Ryder’s distribution, warehousing, and transportation solutions. Managing customer relationships, operational planning, continuous improvement, safety, and frontline teams.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership for the Distribution Center and supervisors responsible for turnkey warehousing and transportation solutions
Interface directly with customers regularly and resolve issues promptly while maintaining customer satisfaction
Lead strategic operational planning and execution
Identify and solve operational issues through continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives
Hire, supervise, develop, and manage employee performance
Maintain positive employee relations
Maintain effective communication within and across work groups
Review data and implement necessary actions
May manage profit and loss statements depending on operational complexity and scope
Lead a proactive safety program consistent with company policy
Instruct and enforce safety management plans, training, and processes
Monitor equipment maintenance using checklists and observations
Perform other duties as assigned

H.S. diploma/GED required
Five (5) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required
Five (5) years or more managing, leading and developing direct reports required
Experience analyzing data and trends
OEM experience preferred
Experience working across multiple teams with an understanding of continuous improvement
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated leadership capabilities
Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization, peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors
Ability to work independently and as member of a team
Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
Strong organization, analytical, and computer skills
Ability to create and develop an inclusive and engaged work environment
Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized with excellent time management skills
Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred
Master's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred
Three (3) years or more Profit & Loss responsibility preferred
One (1) year or more customer interaction preferred
Must have valid legal authorization to work in Canada
