About the role

  • Senior Full-Stack Developer building Laravel and Nuxt/Vue products for ScholarshipOwl’s AI-powered scholarship marketplace. Developing widgets, APIs, integrations, and LLM-driven education funding features.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and ship end-to-end B2B features across Laravel/Doctrine JSON:API endpoints, Nuxt 3/4 Vue components, and server routes
  • Develop and optimize embedded widget systems, Nitro server engine logic, iframe cross-origin messaging, client event-tracking SDKs, and data ingestion pipelines
  • Design relational MySQL schemas, Doctrine entity mappings, migrations, RESTful/JSON:API contracts, and Redis caching layers
  • Integrate Cursor and Gemini into development for prototyping, refactoring, test generation, and LLM-driven product features
  • Integrate and maintain third-party CRM platforms, error tracking systems, payment gateways, and cloud data services
  • Establish automated PHPUnit, Playwright, and Vitest test coverage within CI/CD pipelines
  • Conduct code reviews and collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and leadership
  • Own technical implementation of core products across the full stack
  • Help connect millions of students to scholarship and funding opportunities through ScholarshipOwl’s AI-powered marketplace

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional full-stack web development experience
  • At least 1+ year actively incorporating AI coding assistants into daily engineering workflows
  • Strong commercial experience with PHP 8+ and Laravel
  • Experience with Laravel service architecture, queues/jobs, middleware, and OAuth2/Passport authentication
  • Deep proficiency in Vue 3 Composition API, Nuxt 3 or Nuxt 4, TypeScript, Pinia, and Tailwind CSS
  • Strong relational database modeling and MySQL query optimization
  • Experience with ORMs, including Doctrine ORM/DBAL or deep Eloquent experience with ability to adapt to Doctrine
  • Deep understanding of RESTful/JSON:API standards, validation error mapping, request formatting, and Redis caching
  • Daily use of AI coding tools such as Cursor and Gemini
  • Hands-on experience with PHPUnit and frontend/E2E tests using Playwright, Vitest, or Cypress
  • Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Linux/container environments
  • Exceptional written technical communication
  • High autonomy in navigating multi-service codebases and solving complex blockers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical software engineering experience is listed under Good to Have
  • Preferred additional experience includes Doctrine ORM/DBAL, embeddable widgets, JavaScript tracking SDKs, iframe cross-origin communication, Nitro, Bun, PrimeVue, BigQuery, Stripe/Braintree, Google Gemini APIs, and GCP
  • Bonus experience in technical leadership, B2B SaaS, EdTech, recruitment/ATS, or conversion tracking
