About the role

  • Senior Executive Assistant supporting Securian Canada’s CEO and CFO. Managing executive calendars, Board governance, communications, and sensitive priorities in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the CEO and CFO by triaging inboxes and calls, drafting correspondence, and flagging time-sensitive matters
  • Manage complex, multi-party, and cross-time-zone calendars for the CEO and CFO
  • Protect executive time, anticipate priorities, and organize daily itineraries
  • Act as liaison between executives, internal teams, the Senior Leadership Team, and external stakeholders
  • Prepare briefing materials, summaries, agendas, and presentations for key meetings
  • Track action items and follow-ups through completion, provide status updates, and flag issues early
  • Handle sensitive financial, legal, and personal matters with discretion and judgment
  • Coordinate Board and committee support, including board-pack collation, secure distribution, minute-taking, and follow-up communications
  • Coordinate Executive Leadership Team meetings, agendas, logistics, outcomes, decisions, and follow-up actions
  • Support coordination of key regulatory and compliance dates
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, itineraries, accompanying materials, and contingency planning
  • Use Microsoft 365 Copilot, Enterprise ChatGPT, collaboration platforms, and workflow tools to streamline scheduling, reporting, and communications
  • Provide dedicated executive support to the CEO and CFO as a trusted senior partner

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience providing high-level executive support, including partnering directly with C-suite executives
  • Bachelor's degree or other post-secondary education preferred, or equivalent experience demonstrating strong professional maturity and sound judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Sound judgment and confident decision-making
  • Ability to operate autonomously, anticipate needs, take initiative, and determine when to act or escalate
  • High regard for confidentiality, professional maturity, tact, diplomacy, and discretion
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to build trusted relationships across senior and Board levels
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to track deliverables and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong business acumen and curiosity
  • Proficiency with modern digital and AI productivity tools
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 proficiency, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Proficiency with Copilot or comparable collaboration platforms
  • Bilingualism (English/French) strongly preferred
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or another regulated environment preferred
  • Experience supporting a Board of Directors and committee governance processes preferred
