About the role

  • Senior Executive Assistant supporting Securian Canada's CEO and CFO. Managing executive calendars, Board governance, communications, and priorities in a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated executive support to the CEO and CFO
  • Triage and prioritize executive inboxes and calls
  • Draft correspondence and flag time-sensitive matters from the Board, regulators, and key partners
  • Manage complex calendars, multi-party and cross-time-zone scheduling, daily itineraries, and priority protection
  • Anticipate executive needs, conflicts, preparation gaps, and priorities
  • Liaise between executives, internal teams, senior leadership, Board members, and external stakeholders
  • Prepare briefing materials, summaries, agendas, and presentations
  • Track action items and follow-ups to completion and provide status updates
  • Handle sensitive financial, legal, and personal matters with discretion
  • Coordinate Board and committee support, including board packs, secure distribution, minutes, and follow-up communications
  • Coordinate Executive Leadership Team meetings, agendas, logistics, outcomes, decisions, and follow-up actions
  • Support coordination of regulatory and compliance dates
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, itineraries, accompanying materials, and contingency planning
  • Use Microsoft 365 Copilot, Enterprise ChatGPT, collaboration, and workflow platforms to streamline scheduling, reporting, and communications

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience providing high-level executive support, including partnering directly with C-suite executives
  • Bachelor's degree or other post-secondary education preferred, or equivalent experience demonstrating strong professional maturity and sound judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Sound judgment and confident decision-making
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, anticipate needs, take initiative, and determine when to act or escalate
  • High regard for confidentiality, professional maturity, tact, diplomacy, and discretion
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to build trusted relationships across senior and Board levels
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to track deliverables and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong business acumen and curiosity
  • Proficiency with modern digital and AI productivity tools
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Proficiency with Copilot or comparable collaboration platforms
  • Bilingualism in English and French strongly preferred
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or another regulated environment preferred
  • Experience supporting a Board of Directors and committee governance processes
