About the role

Security Engineer securing Sentry’s application-monitoring platform through threat modeling, vulnerability management, and secure development practices. Partnering with product and engineering teams on emerging cloud and AI security challenges.

Responsibilities

Support and help mature Sentry's security review program, including secure code review, architecture review, and threat modeling
Build security review processes, tooling, and culture
Contribute to vulnerability management, including intake, triage, prioritization, remediation tracking, bug bounty, and responsible disclosure
Partner with engineering and product teams to embed secure-by-design principles early in development
Integrate security tooling into developer and CI/CD workflows
Validate and reproduce application and infrastructure security findings through scanning and manual testing
Support penetration testing and vulnerability validation across Sentry's application, SDKs, and cloud-based platform
Evaluate and respond to emerging application security threats, including risks from agentic product features and AI-assisted engineering practices
Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams

2+ years of industry experience designing, building, or securing complex applications and cloud systems
Degree in Computer Science or a related field, equivalent training, or professional experience
Hands-on experience with security reviews, SDLC practices, secure CI/CD, architecture reviews, threat modeling, vulnerability management, bug bounty and responsible disclosure programs
Comfortable programming in at least one language
Able to read and reason about code in Python, Typescript, Go, or Rust
Familiarity with distributed cloud technology such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform
Understanding of cloud networking and IAM security
Collaborative problem-solving approach
Strong written and verbal communication
