About the role

  • Ultrasound Technologist performing diagnostic and guided ultrasound procedures across Scarborough Health Network hospitals. Delivering patient-centred imaging care and maintaining high-quality clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and perform ultrasound examinations and ultrasound-guided procedures in a team environment
  • Maintain and document high-quality images and technologist notes
  • Participate in implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness of the ultrasound service
  • Deliver optimal patient-centred care
  • Communicate effectively with clinical teams, patients, and families
  • Work effectively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Work at all SHN hospital locations
  • Report to the Manager

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an established and accredited ultrasound program
  • Minimum of current 2 years of hospital experience
  • Current membership with CMRITO in good standing with MRT(DMS) credential
  • Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Maintain registry status, in good standing by meeting all professional and college requirements
  • Registration and working knowledge of Ultrasound Physics & Instrumentation, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Abdomen and Vascular, and Breast imaging
  • Venous and arterial doppler and breast imaging experience
  • Breast Ultrasound (diagnostic and screen) experience, including interpretation of mammogram and breast MRI, knowledge of BIRADS system and breast pathology
  • Technical capability in various ultrasound systems, including GE and Philips
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, assess patient capabilities and limitations, and make practice adjustments as necessary
  • Computer keyboarding and literacy skills
  • Understanding of and commitment to SHN comprehensive safety programs and practices
  • Commitment to customer service
  • Excellent work performance, punctuality and attendance
  • Values consistent with SHN’s Code of Conduct and commitment to a healthy and positive work environment
  • Ability to speak another language is an asset
