About the role

  • Modelling Hydrogeologist developing 3D groundwater models and hydrogeological reports for SLR Consulting’s Canadian environmental services. Supporting remediation, regulatory, and multidisciplinary sustainability projects.

Responsibilities

  • Create conceptual site models (CSMs) to analyze and interpret hydrogeological information
  • Construct, calibrate, and operate 3D numerical groundwater models
  • Prepare hydrogeological technical reports for clients and regulators
  • Integrate hydrogeological findings with multidisciplinary scientific, planning, and engineering teams
  • Support project delivery across health and safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction
  • Undertake occasional field work and oversee information collection by junior scientists/hydrogeologists
  • Prepare proposals and contribute to service line, business sector, and client business development plans
  • Liaise with clients and ensure excellent service delivery
  • Mentor junior hydrogeologists and participate in training and mentorship opportunities

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience in a similar hydrogeological role in the environmental services or mining industry
  • Knowledge of conceptual site models considering aquifer characteristics, groundwater quality and geochemistry, and overall water balance at local and regional scales
  • Working knowledge of MODFLOW and ability to construct, calibrate, and operate groundwater models with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with Leapfrog, Groundwater Vistas, FEFLOW, Python, Aqtesolv, and Surfer considered an asset
  • Broad knowledge of environmental site assessment, site remediation, and hydrogeology
  • Working knowledge of provincial, local, and industry-specific regulations and guidelines
  • Experience designing, supervising, and analyzing aquifer testing and monitoring programs
  • Undergraduate degree in earth sciences
  • Valid driver's license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required for travel to job sites/clients
