About the role

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority and guide design strategy and technical alignment
  • Design and physically integrate aircraft systems other than electrical wiring
  • Develop and review 3D layouts, equipment installation, routing, brackets, assemblies, and detail drawings
  • Define physical interfaces, clearances, access, attachment concepts, and installation provisions
  • Reconcile functional requirements with safety, maintainability, manufacturability, assembly, weight, cost, and zone constraints
  • Coordinate definition activities with engineering disciplines, manufacturing, quality, maintainability, partners, and suppliers
  • Manage spatial integration, resolve interferences, and address access, installation sequencing, and interface issues
  • Support design reviews, compliance, verification, validation, qualification, and certification activities
  • Provide technical solutions in production, at supplier sites, during ground and flight testing, and in service
  • Manage engineering changes and maintain configuration and product definition data in the PLM system
  • Act as the technical authority for complex issues and provide recommendations to management
  • Develop organizational capabilities through governance, standards, mentoring, and knowledge transfer
  • Depending on the English version, perform aircraft structural design tasks, including concepts, 3D models, assemblies, drawings, certification, production support, and in-service changes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline, depending on the position
  • A technologist diploma may be considered based on relevant experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in aerospace engineering or a related industry (French version)
  • Typically 2–5 years of relevant experience (English version)
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems installation and physical integration
  • Experience with or knowledge of routing and installation of equipment, ducts, pipes, tubes, hoses, and brackets
  • Knowledge of clearances, access, maintainability, installation sequencing, environmental conditions, and zone constraints
  • Proficiency in technical drawings, GD&T, manufacturing methods, certification principles, and configuration management
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and Microsoft Office; NX and Teamcenter are assets
  • Knowledge of PLM, product definition, engineering change, and configuration management processes
  • Fluency in English required
  • French is an asset
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate priorities, influence technical decisions, and act as a mentor
