About the role

  • Aircraft systems installation engineer designing and integrating aerospace equipment for SOGECLAIR. Coordinating multidisciplinary engineering, certification, configuration, and production support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review 3D installation layouts, equipment arrangements, routing, supports, assemblies, and detail drawings for assigned aircraft systems, excluding electrical wiring
  • Define physical interfaces, clearances, access, attachment concepts, and installation provisions for equipment, ducts, pipes, tubes, hoses, and related hardware
  • Balance functional installation requirements with safety, maintainability, manufacturability, assembly, weight, cost, and aircraft-zone constraints
  • Coordinate installation definition with functional engineering, structures, stress, interiors, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, safety, manufacturing, quality, maintainability, and mass properties teams
  • Manage spatial integration and resolve clashes, access constraints, installation sequence issues, and interface discrepancies
  • Coordinate technical definition with partners, suppliers, and operations teams
  • Support design reviews, compliance, verification and validation, qualification, and certification activities
  • Provide technical solutions for production, supplier, ground-test, flight-test, and in-service installation issues
  • Manage engineering changes, assess impacts, and maintain configuration and product data in the applicable PLM environment
  • Lead assigned work packages and coordinate interfaces, priorities, and deliverables
  • Develop and substantiate solutions for complex design and integration issues and make recommendations to project leadership
  • Review peers’ work, share lessons learned, and coach junior engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline
  • A technologist diploma may be considered based on relevant experience
  • Typically 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems installation and physical integration
  • Knowledge of routing and installation of equipment, ducts, pipes, tubes, hoses, brackets, and supports
  • Knowledge of clearance, access, maintainability, installation sequence, environmental, and zone constraints
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, manufacturing methods, certification fundamentals, and configuration control
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and MS Office
  • Working knowledge of PLM, product definition, engineering change, and configuration management processes
  • Knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is an asset
  • Fluent in English (mandatory)
  • French is an asset
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication
  • Collaborative approach with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Sound judgment, analytical problem-solving, organization, and accountability
  • Ability to coordinate priorities and provide constructive technical guidance
