About the role
- Design and develop aerospace components at Sogeclair Digital Engineering. Ensure compliance with industry standards while collaborating with engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design components or assemblies according to customer requests and applicable customer and industry standards;
- Modify or create 3D models of parts or assemblies;
- Prepare and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications for various parts or assemblies;
- Revise and incorporate changes into technical drawings;
- Standardize 3D models and drawings according to customer and industry standards;
- Analyze submitted change requests;
- Research technical documentation and specifications when not provided by the customer;
- Perform root-cause analysis and resolve issues;
- Provide technical support to production and engineering teams;
- Write quality procedures;
- Review assembly instructions/assembly documentation;
- Conduct research and development activities;
- Share technical knowledge with team members;
- Assist with proposals/submissions;
- Assist with workload planning;
- Understand AS9100 requirements related to the responsibilities of this position;
- Comply with the company’s QMS procedures and apply QMS tools when carrying out tasks.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience;
- DEC (College Diploma) in Aeronautical Construction or Mechanical Engineering;
- Experience in the aerospace or manufacturing sector is an asset;
- Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Proficient in First Article Inspection processes (First Article Inspection);
- Proficient in design and modeling software (CATIA V5 and 3DVia);
- Proficient with Material Resource Planning (MRP) software, such as SAP and BaaN;
- Knowledge of Mentor Graphics or CorelDRAW is an asset;
- Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, SmarTeam, Enovia, and MBOM) is an asset;
- Bilingual: French and English, written and spoken.
