About the role
- Technical Accounting Manager guiding IFRS research, policies, and complex transactions for Solink’s cloud video-security platform. Partnering with auditors and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Research and document technical accounting positions on complex or non-routine transactions
- Draft accounting memos and position papers under IFRS, including IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IFRS 2, and IAS 36 matters
- Monitor new and amended IFRS pronouncements, assess business impact, and lead implementation efforts
- Review new contract structures with Legal, Sales, and Product teams and advise on accounting implications
- Review and maintain technical accounting policies across all legal entities
- Act as primary auditor contact on technical accounting matters and complex judgments
- Support M&A due diligence and purchase accounting when applicable
- Partner with the Assistant Controller on applying technical positions during close
- Provide technical accounting training and guidance to the broader accounting team
- Serve as the go-to IFRS resource for complex, non-routine transactions
- Own Solink's accounting policy manual
- Help ensure a clean, efficient annual audit and prepare for accounting changes affecting financial reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CA required, or in progress
- 3–5 years of accounting experience
- Public accounting experience, with Big 4 or large regional firm experience strongly preferred
- Deep working knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15 revenue recognition and other judgment-heavy areas
- Comfortable using AI tools for research and first-draft memo preparation, with rigorous review and professional judgment
- Experience with multi-element or bundled revenue arrangements; hardware/software combined offerings are a strong plus
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to produce clear, well-supported accounting memos
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-accounting stakeholders
- Exposure to IFRS reporting
- Experience working directly with external auditors on complex accounting matters
- Experience in a hardware-enabled SaaS or similarly complex revenue environment
- Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency reporting structures
- Experience leading new accounting standard implementation projects
- Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, including dual citizens, or eligible to work in Canada
- Must comply with Solink's security policies and standards
