About the role

Responsibilities
- Identify functional requirements.
- Design the functional architecture, use-case architecture, and service architecture.
- Identify relevant volumes.
- Specify interaction rules.
- Establish the data conversion strategy.
- Participate in architecture review sessions to define direction and ensure solution integration in accordance with the project guidelines.
- Refine the assessment of the solution’s costs and benefits.
- Contribute to the development of the implementation plan.
- Document completed work.
- Support development teams and development analysts with respect to functional architecture.
- Collaborate on integrated testing and support testing and the production deployment of changes with users.
- Conduct impact analyses and produce functional assessments.
- Perform quality assurance on deliverables.
- Facilitate workshops.
- Support project managers in resolving decision points.
- Assess change and defect-fix requests.
- Ensure knowledge transfer to the organization’s designated personnel.
- Take on any other responsibilities associated with a functional and application-systems architecture advisor.
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of experience in information technology, including four (4) years as a functional and systems architecture advisor involved in the development of computer systems on a mainframe platform.
- Must have served as a functional and systems architecture advisor on three (3) engagements, each with a minimum scope of 4,000 person-days, with a minimum contribution of 100 person-days per engagement.
- Five (5) years of experience with CICS, IMS, DB2, and TSO technologies.
- Six (6) months of experience with a 3270 emulator.
