About the role

Senior Software Engineer owning end-to-end AI-powered cybersecurity product development at Sophos. Building LLM-driven workflows, automation, interfaces, APIs, and scalable systems.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end product development from idea, research, and architecture to production
Build and ship AI-powered security products across frontend, backend, and APIs
Develop scalable, high-quality interfaces and systems for real user workflows
Define problems, make decisions, and execute independently with minimal specifications
Collaborate as needed while operating with lean ownership and high autonomy
Drive adoption and impact by iterating based on real usage
Leverage LLMs and AI tooling to accelerate development and improve team productivity
Continuously improve systems, code quality, and developer workflows

Experience building end-to-end products across UI, APIs, systems, and deployment
First-principles thinking
High agency, ownership, and independent execution
Clean, scalable, maintainable code and strong engineering fundamentals
Experience or strong interest in AI-powered development, including LLMs, agents, automation, and copilots
Use of AI tools to accelerate development and decision-making
Ability to operate in low-structure, fast-moving environments with minimal PM/design dependency
Pragmatic trade-off decision-making balancing speed, quality, and long-term thinking
4+ years of engineering experience across frontend and backend suggested for most developers
Interest and knowledge of security is a plus
Legal authorization to work in the jurisdiction where the position is posted without employer sponsorship
