About the role
- Lead Software Developer owning architecture for Angular-based machine HMI and real-time visualization solutions at Spiria. Guiding teams, reviewing code, and advising clients.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and select technology options for projects based on software development and customer issues
- Evaluate efforts, solve problems, and ensure solution quality
- Review development team code
- Transfer knowledge through functional coaching and mentoring of less experienced employees
- Provide front-line consulting to clients
- Participate actively in developing digital solutions
- Improve the efficiency and quality of development processes
- Provide advisory support to clients
- Provide functional and technical leadership within projects
- Recommend approaches for complex project development and implementation
- Review code and architecture for compliance with company standards and industry best practices
- Write, modify, review, optimize, and debug computer code
- Improve work methods and procedures
- Select libraries and development paradigms
- Identify code-reuse opportunities
- Participate in testing and quality-control activities
- Participate in service-offer writing
- Own end-to-end software architecture for machine HMI stacks, including Angular touchscreen interfaces and 2D/3D visualization
- Define and enforce architecture patterns across front-end, back-end, and system integration in embedded and enterprise environments
- Drive technical decisions for performance, safety, scalability, and maintainability of real-time machine-control displays
- Collaborate with UX, systems engineers, product owners, and embedded teams
- Guide and mentor front-end and back-end developers
- Perform architectural and code reviews
- Contribute hands-on in Angular, graphics, Python/C++, and system integration
Requirements
- 8 to 10 years of experience in digital solutions development
- Significant experience leading project teams
- Strong command of front-end architecture with Angular
- Openness to back-end technologies in C++ and/or Python
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Understanding and knowledge of software architecture
- Client-oriented approach
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience starting projects from scratch
- Full software development lifecycle experience
- Ability to adapt quickly and meet objectives in a timely manner
- Ability to work with tight deadlines
- Knowledge of unit testing
- Good knowledge of Agile principles and rituals
- Bilingualism is essential: required to collaborate with internal and external clients across North America in both French and English
