About the role

  • Director leading global product development at StarTech.com, a manufacturer of IT connectivity solutions. Driving NPI, compliance, quality, supply chain, and time-to-market improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the multi-year product roadmap and New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle from concept through launch and sustainment
  • Oversee product verification, validation, regulatory compliance, testing, certifications, and quality standards
  • Manage sustaining engineering activities, including PCNs/ECOs, to optimize cost, product performance, and lifecycle management
  • Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sourcing, QA, and Executive Leadership to deliver roadmap commitments
  • Manage and develop product development and product verification teams, including resource planning and budget management
  • Provide top-level customer support and ensure timely resolution of critical issues
  • Establish scalable processes to improve time-to-market, product quality, and operational efficiency
  • Drive data-informed decision-making using analytics and AI tools
  • Engage periodically with end customers to understand pain points and translate insights into product improvements
  • Establish and track KPIs for NPI execution, product success, quality, and lifecycle performance
  • Report to the VP, Product Development

Requirements

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in product development and/or an engineering environment
  • Strong expertise in end-to-end product development lifecycle management within IT hardware, electronics, or hardware/firmware environments
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, product testing, and quality standards
  • Strong data analytics capabilities and experience leveraging AI tools for decision-making
  • Deep understanding of IT hardware, electronics manufacturing, or related industries
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at the executive level
  • Experience managing complex global supply chains and vendor relationships
  • Track record of improving time-to-market, product quality, and cost efficiency
  • Exposure to global regulatory frameworks and compliance environments
  • Business acumen, including business case development and commercial decision-making
  • Preferred: experience with PLM systems, PIM tools, and product verification/testing platforms
