About the role

  • Procurement student supporting requisitions, supplier onboarding, compliance, and contracts at Canada's particle accelerator centre. Administrative coordination within TRIUMF's Vancouver research facility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Procurement team
  • Maintain accurate contractual records, documentation, and related correspondence
  • Assist with supplier qualification and evaluation processes
  • Support procurement compliance activities
  • Help qualify and onboard new suppliers
  • Process Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality products and services
  • Participate in competitive bidding and contract review activities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to support organizational goals

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program
  • Preference for studies in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Operations Management, Commerce, or a related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and composed under pressure
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Workday is an asset
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills are a plus
  • Prior supply chain knowledge or experience is beneficial but not required
  • Previous experience in supply chain, procurement, administration, customer service, or project coordination is an asset
  • Preference for students available for an 8-month work term
  • Canadian undergraduate students or Canadian Permanent Resident undergraduate students must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Foreign full-time undergraduate students must be enrolled at a designated learning institution, have a valid Canadian study permit permitting off-campus employment, and have applied for a Social Insurance Number
  • Foreign undergraduate students in recognized study-abroad programs must have accepted or be in the process of accepting an IEC Invitation to Apply for a work permit
  • Applications must include a resume/CV, covering letter, and academic transcript
