DevOps Engineer building AWS platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation for SWTCH’s North American EV charging solutions. Improving deployment reliability, observability, and cloud architecture.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the AWS ECS platform, including Fargate, ECS on EC2, EC2, and Docker Compose hosts
Manage and improve GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines
Advance push-to-deploy continuous delivery using feature flags, canary or blue-green deployments, and automated rollback
Collaborate with Development and Architecture teams to build highly available cloud environments
Support the Traefik-based OCPP edge and self-hosted Redpanda streaming platform
Build and extend tooling using AWS services, OpenTofu, shell scripting, Checkov, and tflint
Maintain automation tooling and deployment infrastructure in line with SOC 2 best practices
Improve architectural redundancy and reliability, including support for the MySQL-to-Postgres migration
Build monitoring, alerting, and tooling with Vector, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, and OpenTelemetry
Implement per-service SLOs and burn-rate alerts
Write and maintain infrastructure and process documentation
Report to the Director of Engineering and collaborate with development and operations teams
Requirements
5+ years of experience in DevOps, release engineering, or build automation
3+ years of experience with large-scale distributed infrastructure and client-server architecture
Hands-on experience with AWS ECS (Fargate and/or EC2), Docker, and container technologies in a microservices environment
Experience deploying and managing infrastructure as code with OpenTofu or Terraform
Strong experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure automation
Experience with CI/CD, ideally GitHub Actions
Experience with continuous testing
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Grafana and Prometheus-compatible metrics (e.g., VictoriaMetrics)
Experience with Kafka-compatible streaming systems such as Redpanda or Kafka (nice to have)
AWS certification (nice to have; exam sponsorship available)
Experience working in a SOC 2 environment (nice to have)
