About the role
- BCAA VP leading M&A, strategic ventures, and innovation for British Columbia’s trusted insurance and mobility-services organization. Building its corporate development platform and driving enterprise-wide growth investments.
Responsibilities
- Lead BCAA’s corporate development, M&A, strategic partnerships and innovation activities
- Establish and lead BCAA’s corporate development capability
- Identify and evaluate acquisition targets, strategic partnerships and new business opportunities
- Lead preliminary due diligence, valuation analysis, financial modelling, risk assessment and transaction structuring
- Partner with Finance, Legal and Executive teams
- Develop business cases and assess emerging markets
- Advance BCAA’s Strategic Ventures pipeline
- Identify opportunities arising from changing consumer behaviour, technology and industry trends
- Shape enterprise-wide investment decisions and strategic growth initiatives
- Report to the Chief Transformation & Technology Officer and serve on the Senior Leadership Team
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate development, strategy, M&A, investment banking, management consulting, venture development or a related field
- Demonstrated experience evaluating or executing transactions
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Strong business case development skills
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders across a complex organization
- Strong executive presence
- Strong commercial judgment
- Strong communication skills
- Collaborative leadership style
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline required
- MBA or equivalent graduate education considered an asset
