About the role
- Business Insights Specialist forecasting wholesale banking stress scenarios for TD, a major North American bank. Analyzing capital-planning results and improving stress-testing models, controls, and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Execute stress-testing models according to established playbooks
- Analyze results and assess their reasonability and intuition
- Aggregate results and perform reconciliation and control activities
- Develop presentation materials and narratives to generate business insights
- Present results for review and approval by wholesale-business LOB and senior management, and challenge-function groups
- Execute control procedures and maintain a strong control environment for stress-testing processes
- Develop aggregation models or processes and required documentation
- Lead or support projects to investigate issues and identify solutions
- Improve and automate processes
- Support governance activities and ad hoc initiatives or projects
- Develop SOPs for cycle tasks and cross-train team members on various models
- Work with the Model Lifecycle Environment developer team to review SAS model implementations and debug execution issues
- Use PowerBI to enhance stress-testing results analytics
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues and financial analysis to diverse audiences
- Proficiency with quantitative analysis tools and concepts
- Ability to manage deadlines, multiple tasks, and changing priorities
- Curiosity and analytical ability to understand new concepts quickly
- Working knowledge of SAS and/or Python
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and PowerBI
- Experience supporting wholesale businesses and knowledge of wholesale products and processes
- Strong accounting or finance background
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret balance sheets and income statements
- Knowledge of wholesale stress-testing processes is an asset
- Strong ability to work in a team, provide training, and foster a positive work environment
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- CFA/FRM certification preferred
