About the role

  • Data Science Associate rotating through TD’s Analytics Insights & AI team. Building machine-learning and analytics solutions for one of North America’s leading banks.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in TD’s 18-month AI2 Associate rotational program across Analytics Insights & AI
  • Perform data queries and prepare datasets for analysis and modelling
  • Clean data and conduct feature engineering
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends and insights for business decisions
  • Communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support data-driven solutions by building models using structured and unstructured data
  • Prepare datasets for machine learning through integration, cleaning, feature engineering, scaling, and transformation
  • Collaborate with team members and business partners to develop, test, and deploy analytics solutions such as forecasting, optimization, and pricing models
  • Identify business problems and opportunities suitable for data-driven solutions
  • Develop proposals and approaches for analytics initiatives
  • Support business case development for analytics solutions
  • Work on initiatives that improve decisions, processes, systems, and applications supporting TD’s businesses
  • Participate in programming, coaching, tools, and support provided through the Associate program

Requirements

  • Must have graduated between May 2025 and May 2027
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Management, and/or Data Analytics or related field
  • Strong statistical and analytical skills and interest
  • Experience analyzing large data sets, drawing insights and inferences, and communicating outputs
  • Experience in one or more of Big Data, programming, data/text mining, optimization, algorithm development, automation, data visualization, or simulation
  • Experience in one or more of predictive analytics, regression, logit modeling, discrete choice, propensity modeling, or natural language processing
  • Ability to read and comprehend data schemas, metadata, entity relationship diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Technical knowledge or experience with cloud environments; MS Azure is a plus
  • Experience with Data Management
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience with at least one of Python, Spark/PySpark, SQL, R, Java, C/C++, Alteryx, or Tableau
  • Strong leadership qualities, initiative, prioritization, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to participate in a team with targeted deliverables
  • Experience with Data Management, Analytics, and Project Management is a plus
  • Ability to remain current with emerging trends and technologies
