About the role

  • TD Securities Expense Management intern analyzing financial data, reporting, and forecasts for a leading global bank. Developing dashboards and automating Finance processes in Toronto.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large financial and operational datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Support expense reporting, planning, forecasting, and management analysis
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support decision-making
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate existing Finance processes
  • Assist in documenting and improving key workflows and controls
  • Support ad hoc analysis and special projects for Finance leadership
  • Work with experienced colleagues and participate in the TD student community
  • Attend leadership talks and Lunch and Learns
  • Participate in regular development conversations, training, mentoring, and onboarding

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business/Commerce or related field, with the intent of going back to school at the end of the work term
  • Enrolled or planning to pursue a CPA designation OR committed to pursuing a career in Finance Transformation
  • Financial acumen combined with curiosity, innovation, and problem-solving orientation
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools
  • Detail-oriented with high standards for quality and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at various levels of seniority
  • Ability to build effective and collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams and business partners
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, or other data visualization and automation tools is an asset
  • Comfortable working with large, complex datasets
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Curious, proactive, and driven to improve how work gets done
