About the role

  • Data Analyst Intern building SQL, Python, and dashboard tools for TD Asset Management’s portfolio research team. Supporting portfolio managers and traders with reporting and data automation.

Responsibilities

  • Join TD Asset Management’s Portfolio Research & Analytics team as a front-office Data Analyst
  • Build portfolio management and reporting tools
  • Work directly with Portfolio Managers and Traders
  • Automate data flows
  • Develop dashboards for periodic reporting using SQL, Python, and Business Intelligence tools
  • Support tools used in daily management and monitoring of hundreds of billions of dollars in assets
  • Work on several projects with multiple front-office teams
  • Understand and address teams’ data needs
  • Work with large datasets
  • Create dashboards
  • Develop backend systems
  • Gain hands-on SQL database experience
  • Work a 4-month term commencing January 2027

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or Economics
  • Must intend to return to school at the start of the work term
  • Strong SQL or similar database skills
  • Ability to work with large datasets
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas
  • Previous experience developing dashboards or using data visualization tools such as Superset, Tableau, or Power BI preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Coursework or interest in finance considered an asset
