About the role

  • Project Manager overseeing forecasts, accruals, vendor spend, and financial controls at TD, a global financial institution. Providing executive reporting and portfolio financial insight.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial governance activities across a portfolio or product family
  • Own and maintain portfolio financial forecasts, funding plans, and estimated cost at completion (EAC)
  • Review forecasts monthly and analyze variances against approved funding and actual spend
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and recommend actions to leadership
  • Lead monthly accrual processes and coordinate month-end financial reviews
  • Validate vendor commitments, completed work, outstanding invoices, and accrual requirements
  • Monitor accrual reversals, re-accruals, and financial adjustments
  • Oversee vendor invoicing, purchase orders, SOWs, contractual billing, and vendor spend
  • Validate invoices and resolve invoice and payment issues with Procurement and Accounts Payable
  • Reconcile project financial systems, portfolio reports, and finance records
  • Establish and maintain financial procedures, controls, and governance reporting
  • Support audits, governance reviews, annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and investment governance
  • Produce monthly portfolio financial dashboards and executive reporting packs
  • Present financial insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders

Requirements

  • Experience managing financial governance across portfolios or product families with multiple initiatives, projects, work packages, and vendor engagements
  • Knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, reconciliation, accrual management, invoice governance, and financial reporting
  • Ability to partner with Finance, Procurement, Vendor Management, and Delivery teams
  • Ability to analyze financial information and provide recommendations to Product, Technology, and Senior Leadership teams
  • Knowledge of resource demand, vendor commitments, contractual obligations, funding requirements, and estimated costs at completion (EAC)
  • Experience with month-end and year-end financial processes
  • Knowledge of vendor invoicing, purchase orders, statements of work (SOWs), and contractual billing terms
  • Experience with financial controls, governance, audits, and management reporting
  • Experience producing financial dashboards and executive reporting packs
  • Ability to operate with limited oversight as a financial management subject matter expert
