About the role
- Senior CICS programmer supporting IBM mainframe transaction systems at TD bank. Maintaining z/OS infrastructure and delivering CICS project implementations.
Responsibilities
- Provide system support for IBM Customer Information Control System (CICS) on z/OS
- Participate in planning, analysis, design, building, testing, consulting and implementation of CICS-related projects
- Maintain CICS infrastructure on the z/OS platform
- Support CICS-related products
- Support CICS application developers
- Support and/or lead mentoring of less experienced CICS Systems Programmers
- Contribute to CICS usage, futures and direction at the bank
- Provide support, design, build, test and deployment of mainframe database and transaction manager systems
- Consult with architects and application developers on CICS, IMS, Db2, WAS z/OS and z/OS Connect infrastructure
Requirements
- College / University or equivalent work experience
- 5-10 years of CICS and/or application experience
- Sound understanding of CICS, CICSPlex and CTG internal and externals
- Sound understanding of z/OS components and architecture
- Sound knowledge of z/OS and CICS diagnostics tools and tooling
- Working knowledge of SMP/e, Omegamon and System Automation
- Performance analysis skills is an asset
- Solid problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
