About the role

  • Head of Digital Assets & Tokenization managing enterprise technology strategy for TD to deliver tokenized deposits and digital asset capabilities. Leading engineering delivery and compliance in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end enterprise technology strategy and roadmap for tokenized deposits and digital assets, linked to clear business outcomes and value realization.
  • Act as design authority across core components including distributed ledgers, smart contracts, wallets, integration layers, and enterprise platforms.
  • Define platform standards, reference architectures, and scalability pathways for enterprise adoption.
  • Lead engineering delivery of a production-grade tokenized deposits platform, ensuring resilience, scalability, and secure SDLC practices.
  • Oversee integration with core banking systems (GL, deposits, payments, reconciliation) to ensure integrity between on-chain and system-of-record activities.
  • Establish operating model and governance frameworks to enable rapid yet controlled delivery.
  • Embed security-by-design principles, including cryptographic controls, key management, and cyber resilience.
  • Drive regulatory alignment across AML, sanctions, privacy, operational risk, and audit requirements.
  • Own smart contract governance and lifecycle controls, including standards, deployment protocols, and incident management.
  • Lead vendor strategy and ecosystem engagement, including due diligence, interoperability, and commercial oversight.
  • Represent TD in external industry forums, regulatory bodies, and GSIB collaborations to influence emerging standards.
  • Partner with Product, Treasury, and Business leaders to define priority use cases and value propositions for tokenized deposits.
  • Drive client onboarding, platform enablement, and scaling of adoption across transaction banking.
  • Establish governance cadence, including architecture reviews, funding oversight, delivery transparency, and executive reporting.
  • Influence enterprise investment prioritization across digital assets initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise strategy, infrastructure, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal to ensure controls, regulatory alignment, and policy frameworks are embedded into design and delivery.
  • Work jointly with Architecture, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity teams to align on standards, platforms, and enterprise capabilities supporting digital assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
  • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
  • 15+ years in financial services technology leadership
  • 5+ years leading large scale digital assets, blockchain or fintect platforms
  • Experience within GSIBs, Tier 1 investment banks, systemically regulated financial institutions, major fintech infrastructure providers
  • Proven track record managing global engineering organizations and multi-million-dollar technology budgets
  • Deep expertise in digital assets, distributed ledger technology, and enterprise platform architecture
  • Proven experience leading large-scale platform builds within regulated financial institutions
  • Strong understanding of global banking regulation, risk, and control environments for emerging technologies
  • Track record of executive stakeholder management and multi-entity coordination (US, Canada, TDS)
  • Ability to operate as both strategic architect and execution leader
