About the role
- Senior BI Analyst building Power BI dashboards and data solutions for TD, a global financial institution. Delivering actionable insights through SQL, Databricks, DAX, and Power Query.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized end-to-end BI support
- Develop custom data queries, business logic, semantic models, and Power BI dashboards
- Transform, model, and analyze data using SQL, Databricks, DAX, and Power Query
- Deliver scalable reporting solutions and actionable insights for business stakeholders
- Produce specialized reporting packages, dashboards, and scorecards for business objectives
- Generate impactful interactive visualizations and tools
- Lead implementation of initiatives supporting business and functional strategy
- Conduct analysis to enhance business intelligence for management leadership
- Create complex BI reporting packages and dashboards using DataMarts and external data sources
- Identify and propose data presentations for evolving business needs
- Build layouts and templates for internal partners
- Validate data quality and integrity in reporting packages and dashboards
- Develop commentary and insights on reporting packages
- Understand business objectives and provide value-added reporting and ad hoc data extracts
- Evolve report automation and visualization standards
- Provide advisory and consultative services on multi-format data visualization techniques
- Adhere to enterprise frameworks, confidentiality standards, risk controls, governance, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct research and prepare presentations and communications for management
- Analyze functional or enterprise-level results and make recommendations
- Monitor service and productivity and implement process and performance improvements
- Lead remediation actions for performance, risk, and governance issues
- Manage relationships across business lines and control functions
- Provide thought leadership, knowledge transfer, mentorship, and team development
- Keep current on emerging trends and relevant tools and techniques
- Present project status and relevant information to stakeholders
- Act as a brand ambassador for TD
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance or computer science)
- Graduate degree preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience; higher degree education and research tenure can be counted
- Advanced knowledge of reporting and BI platforms, tools and techniques
- Expert knowledge of main data sources used within the business unit
- Experience with Power BI
- Experience designing and implementing custom data solutions using SQL, Databricks, DAX, and Power Query
- Ability to develop robust semantic models and efficient data processing solutions
- Ability to integrate data across enterprise reporting platforms and data sources
- Ability to present to senior management or executives
- Ability to work independently as a senior analyst / subject matter expert
- Must comply with applicable internal and external requirements and provincial employment regulations in Canada
