About the role

  • Senior Project Manager managing year-round highway maintenance projects for Alberta's Transportation. Leading cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet budget and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support the delivery of critical highway maintenance projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope and budget
  • Provide strategic direction and lead cross-functional teams
  • Optimize operational performance and contribute to a culture of accountability
  • Oversee project financial health, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Manage project systems, including cost tracking, reporting, and documentation
  • Coordinate with team members to engage subcontractors and suppliers
  • Be a key conduit and primary holder of the client relationship at the project level

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years' experience working in dynamic project manager roles, including construction, services or industrial settings
  • Deep understanding of Health and Safety as a core company value
  • Experience working with Canadian Construction Safety Association (CCSA) members would be an asset
  • An engineering, Master of Business Administration, Financial designation or other relevant post secondary degree would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated understanding of key Project Manager responsibilities
  • Open to relocation to the Edmonton area (relocation packages available)
  • Successful track record of leading teams up to 7 direct reports across remote worksites
  • Understand, interpret and communicate contract and performance requirements
  • Strong financial acumen, including project estimates, budgets, project contracts and forecasting.
  • Highly experienced in project scheduling and subcontract management
