Responsibilities
Monitor SIEM logs and alerts to identify potential security incidents or breaches
Assist with incident detection and response, including investigating and resolving incidents, performing root cause analysis, and recommending preventive measures
Conduct routine cyber security threat and vulnerability assessments across infrastructure, platforms, and application workloads
Maintain Cyber Threat and Vulnerability Management program documentation and standard operating procedures
Collaborate with teams to resolve security vulnerabilities and information security risks
Develop, implement, and enforce security controls, policies, and procedures with multiple teams
Assist in implementing and maintaining security controls, policies, and procedures
Research and stay current with cyber security threats, trends, and best practices
Collaborate with senior analysts and participate in projects as required
Requirements
Degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Passion towards Cyber Security and eagerness to continuously learn
Knowledge of basic cyber security concepts, including network security, threat intelligence, incident response, and vulnerability management
Familiarity with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, SIEM, and endpoint protection
Familiarity with common and latest forms of malware, attacker tools, and techniques
Basic understanding of networking protocols and operating systems
Familiarity or knowledge of public cloud IaaS environments and SaaS solutions
Understanding of industry standards and frameworks such as NIST, MITR, CIS, PCI, etc.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Canadian citizenship, Canadian permanent residency, or a valid Canadian work permit
Relevant certifications are an asset
