About the role

  • Engineering Specialist designing piping, mechanical systems, and equipment improvements for Tenaris steel manufacturing operations. Supporting engineering execution and project management at the Sault Ste Marie mill.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technologies in the engineering specialty to develop and support basic engineering and project management execution
  • Perform design calculations related to piping and mechanical system design
  • Produce AutoCAD and/or 3D models of mechanical drawings
  • Develop and edit mechanical specifications and process diagrams for piping and mechanical systems
  • Review piping and mechanical drawings for completeness and coordination with other disciplines
  • Investigate existing systems onsite for coordination and design
  • Manage small capital expenditure project improvements, upgrades, and expansions
  • Perform hands-on layout design, engineering, project management, and implementation
  • Modify material handling equipment and hydraulic systems
  • Lead Failure Analysis meetings
  • Comply with Tenaris policies, procedures, management standards, laws, and regulations
  • Protect assigned facilities, equipment, and physical resources from damage, theft, or misuse

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in similar Engineering role
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in steel manufacturing or similar environment
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environment safety procedures
  • Previous experience with SAP considered an asset
  • Previous experience with Project Management considered an asset
  • Previous experience 3D modeling considered as an asset
  • Flexibility to work 8-hour days based on business needs
  • Ability to work in a steel manufacturing mill
