Registered Dietitian providing patient centred care and nutrition education in a collaborative healthcare environment. Requires clinical experience and dedication to evidence-based practices.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide patient centred care
Participate in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
Conduct clinical counseling and community nutrition education
Maintain updated knowledge of current evidenced-based practices in nutrition
Requirements
Academic preparation from an accredited Canadian university program in foods & nutrition or equivalent
Practical training in an accredited practical program in Canada or equivalent
Three to five years clinical counseling and community nutrition experience or comparable skills, experience and education
Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
Member in good standing with College of Dietitians
Knowledge and proficiency in current, evidenced-based methods and practices of primary care delivery, with an emphasis on health promotion and risk reduction
Strong leadership, organization, evaluation, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates some research experience
Experience in the use of EMR and Microsoft Office applications
Desire and ability to update knowledge and skills through various means including technology-based opportunities, courses, workshops and conferences
Multi-tasking skills related to the delivery of efficient primary care
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exhibit an ability to be open and non-judgmental
Knowledge of the goals and structure of the organization
Solid understanding and experience with adult group learning principles, teaching self management techniques & ability to evoke participation in a group environment
Level of comfort or willingness to become familiar with virtual meeting technology
Experience with facilitation of an online program considered an asset
Experience and commitment to working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
