About the role

Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide patient centred care
- Participate in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Conduct clinical counseling and community nutrition education
- Maintain updated knowledge of current evidenced-based practices in nutrition
Requirements
- Academic preparation from an accredited Canadian university program in foods & nutrition or equivalent
- Practical training in an accredited practical program in Canada or equivalent
- Three to five years clinical counseling and community nutrition experience or comparable skills, experience and education
- Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Member in good standing with College of Dietitians
- Knowledge and proficiency in current, evidenced-based methods and practices of primary care delivery, with an emphasis on health promotion and risk reduction
- Strong leadership, organization, evaluation, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates some research experience
- Experience in the use of EMR and Microsoft Office applications
- Desire and ability to update knowledge and skills through various means including technology-based opportunities, courses, workshops and conferences
- Multi-tasking skills related to the delivery of efficient primary care
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exhibit an ability to be open and non-judgmental
- Knowledge of the goals and structure of the organization
- Solid understanding and experience with adult group learning principles, teaching self management techniques & ability to evoke participation in a group environment
- Level of comfort or willingness to become familiar with virtual meeting technology
- Experience with facilitation of an online program considered an asset
- Experience and commitment to working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
