About the role
- Quality Assurance Analyst testing Shopify eCommerce products for Canadian furniture retailer. Developing test strategies, executing manual and automated tests, and resolving software defects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Development team to ensure projects are designed and delivered to high-quality standards
- Develop and document test plans, test cases and test scripts
- Conduct manual and automated testing
- Perform functional, exploratory, regression, acceptance, performance, security and usability testing
- Identify, track and report software defects
- Work with cross-functional teams to support timely defect resolution
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies
- Partner with Development, Product Management and Customer Support teams to create a seamless customer experience
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Three or more years of experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably within a software development environment
- Demonstrated experience with both manual and automated testing
- Experience working within Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Knowledge of test case and defect-management tools such as Azure DevOps, Xray or Jira
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices
- Experience with regression, acceptance, performance, security and usability testing
- Ability to analyze complex quality issues and develop effective solutions
- Proficiency with Xray or a similar test-management tool, including developing test plans and strategies for manual and automated testing
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, troubleshooting, debugging and analytical skills
- Ability to influence improvements to performance, quality and user experience
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check may be required
- CSQA or ISTQB certification considered an asset
