About the role

Quality Assurance Lead overseeing game testing, QA processes, and testers at Torn Banner Studios, an independent Canadian game developer. Supporting polished releases across PC and console platforms.

Responsibilities

Manage the test team's day-to-day activities and quality of work
Own and drive the testing process and maintain tools and processes used by testers, including Jira, Confluence, and TestRail
Collaborate with all departments to ensure work can be tested efficiently
Develop testing plans and test cases for new features with embedded QA testers
Oversee daily smoke tests and as-needed test runs, providing feedback to ensure test coverage
Help with recruitment, onboarding, development, and professional training of the QA team
Maintain internal communications and encourage a positive, ambitious team atmosphere
Foster cross-department relationships, collaboration, and studio-wide objectives
Drive a culture of continuous feedback, accountability, and growth

At least 3 years of professional video game QA experience
Professional experience as a QA Lead, supervising testers on a shipped game
A strong and efficient communicator with excellent management skills
Experience testing on multiple platforms, including Sony and/or Microsoft consoles and PC
High degree of self-motivation and initiative-taking
Current Ontario or Quebec resident or willing to relocate to Ontario
Ability to briefly work on-site in Toronto is required
