About the role

  • Mechanical Project Coordinator supporting HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and retrofit building-services projects at a multidisciplinary consulting firm. Coordinating deliverables, schedules, construction administration, and project oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of senior project managers and project managers to successfully deliver on assigned projects.
  • Assist in performing reviews of existing installations.
  • Assist in managing and reviewing project deliverables.
  • Work with project managers to manage project progress, ensuring project completion on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate with site inspectors to complete site activities.
  • Complete assigned construction administration tasks including shop drawing reviews and contract document setup.
  • Assist in ensuring all construction administration tasks are completed accurately, timely and within the assigned budget.
  • Assist in responding to client queries regarding the technical and financial aspects of projects.
  • Assist in preparing and continually monitoring project schedules, including task hours and critical performance data.
  • Attend internal and client meetings and develop detailed meeting minutes.
  • Assist in proposal preparation and business development activities.
  • Complete other project management, construction administration and general project oversight tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Direct industry experience in mechanical building services, especially retrofit experience, is preferred.
  • Diploma / Degree from a mechanical building services technical program or an engineering program.
  • Working towards a P.Eng Designation in Ontario is preferred.
  • Eagerness to learn construction project management principles and apply them on ongoing projects.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the National Building Code of Canada and the Ontario Building Code.
  • Working knowledge of ASHRA and CSA/ULC standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and problem solve as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Applications.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail.
