About the role

  • Application Support Analyst troubleshooting travel applications for HIS Canada Travel, a wholesale and retail travel company. Supporting business units, vendors, and IT teams across Toronto or Montreal hybrid operations.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to business issues and serve as a subject matter expert for business application systems
  • Investigate and troubleshoot application problems, liaising with business, vendors, and IT groups for timely resolution
  • Contribute to new ideas, methods, and processes for supported business units
  • Provide guidance to Business Analysts and other IT staff
  • Support merge back / TTS emulators
  • Review reports including test bookings, failed bookings, and QA reports
  • Write and maintain application support documents
  • Provide occasional after-hours support during implementations
  • Provide on-call support as required
  • Perform other duties assigned by management

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an application support role
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a technical support role
  • College or University degree or certificate in Computer Science or equivalent in an IT related field
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of personal energy and ability to maintain that activity level under conditions of time, pressure and stress
  • Sensitivity to and skilled in satisfying customer needs and concerns
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Very good knowledge of travel systems
  • Ability to provide occasional after-hours support, including evenings and weekends, during implementations
  • Ability to provide on-call support as required
