About the role
- Accounting co-op student bookkeeping public and private clients for Vancouver-based Treewalk, an accounting and advisory firm. Preparing reconciliations, GST filings, journal entries, audit documents, and financial reporting workpapers.
Responsibilities
- Bookkeep for multiple public and private clients in Canada and the US, including AR, AP, bank transactions, reconciliations, GST filings, and journal entries
- Maintain organized electronic records of invoices and statements
- Handle foreign exchange transactions
- Assist with providing documents for client audits
- Prepare working papers for financial statement line items
- Support various projects and administrative tasks as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma specializing in accounting in progress
- Current enrollment in a recognized institutional co-op program is required
- Ability to format documents in Microsoft Word
- Comfort working in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work under deadline pressure
- Interest in challenging work and developing accounting skills
- Willingness to embrace new technology
- Extremely detail-oriented and meticulous
- Interest in pursuing a CPA designation
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Resume required
- Official or unofficial transcript required, attached to the resume as one combined document
- Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience is a bonus
- Customer service or client service experience is a bonus
- Exposure to QuickBooks and Sage 50 is a bonus
