About the role

  • Direct Marketing Manager raising funds for Trillium Health Partners Foundation hospitals. Managing multichannel acquisition, retention, donor stewardship, testing, vendors, budgets, and four direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to sizeable annual fundraising targets across the portfolio and manage the associated expense budget
  • Contribute to annual plans and budgets supporting long-term portfolio plans
  • Manage Direct Mail, Email, Monthly Giving, Door-to-Door, Face-to-Face Fundraising, and donor stewardship programs
  • Execute programs using a multi-channel approach across mail, email, telemarketing, digital fundraising, and face-to-face/door-to-door interactions
  • Support comprehensive testing plans, testing roadmaps, and A/B tests to optimize direct marketing metrics
  • Set budgets and annual KPIs; monitor donor retention, conversion, acquisition, active donor base, trends, and performance
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new unrestricted giving through online, offline, face-to-face, door-to-door, and other direct marketing channels
  • Lead external vendor partners to deliver programs according to brand guidelines, goals, timelines, and KPIs
  • Manage vendor issues through resolution
  • Manage projects, delivering them on scope and on time or flagging issues
  • Collaborate with the Major Gift team on business rules for mid-level donor management and donor movement/upgrades
  • Work with Corporate Services to ensure timely and accurate gift processing, data pulls, and list management
  • Coach and mentor 4 direct reports
  • Build collaborative relationships within the Foundation, hospital departments, and vendors
  • Promote information sharing and collaboration across Foundation programs and teams
  • Stay current with hospital updates, health care topics, and relevant news

Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct mail and email development and telemarketing program execution and measurement
  • University degree or diploma in business, marketing, communication, or a related discipline
  • Experience in door-to-door fundraising
  • Experience developing trigger-based and lifecycle-based automated communications
  • Strong understanding of direct marketing test-and-control methodology and key campaign success metrics
  • Experience using segmentation and predictive modelling for direct marketing campaigns
  • Experience managing vendor and supplier relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with donors, colleagues, and Foundation and Hospital stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently while managing multiple projects, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Professional, articulate, sensitive, discreet, and appropriate demeanour
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Donor/client database experience, including Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online
  • A recognized fundraising certification or CFRE would be an asset
  • Hospital environment or health-related charity experience would be an asset
  • Donor stewardship experience would be an asset
  • Power BI and Fundraise Up experience would be an asset
