About the role

  • Senior BI Data Engineer building data pipelines, warehouses, and reporting solutions for Trillium Health Partners hospitals. Leading Microsoft BI architecture, integration, and technical delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction, standards, quality control oversight, and expertise across BI projects
  • Manage data integration from multiple sources, including data transformation and cleansing
  • Define data models and schemas for efficient storage and retrieval
  • Design and build data pipelines for extracting, transforming, cleaning, and loading data
  • Optimize data processing using indexing, partitioning, and clustering
  • Design, develop, and deploy BI infrastructure and tools for data analysis and reporting
  • Design and maintain logical and physical architecture for organizational data systems
  • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain integrated databases according to industry standards
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide technical support to BI teams and stakeholders
  • Write functional and technical specifications and user documentation
  • Consult internal and external stakeholders to collect requirements and design integrated BI solutions
  • Ensure data is accurate, accessible, secure, and useful for data-driven decisions
  • Facilitate collaboration, share best practices, promote innovation, coach team members, and communicate issues promptly
  • Report jointly to the Director of Business Intelligence and Data Governance and the Manager of Cogito and Business Intelligence

Requirements

  • University degree with related experience in Computer Science, Management or related field
  • More than 5 years of Business Intelligence work experience in the Microsoft BI stack
  • Expert knowledge of data modeling, SSRS, SSAS, Tabular Models/Cubes, SQL Server (2016–2023), PowerPivot, PowerView, and advanced SQL scripting
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, C#, or PowerShell
  • Experience managing or leading large BI projects or processes with limited oversight
  • Experience coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to Junior BI professionals
  • Experience with data warehousing solutions and BI tools, including Amazon QuickSight, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI
  • Experience reporting KPIs and other performance metrics
  • Experience delivering SSRS reports using relational, dimensional, or OLAP cube data sources
  • Experience upgrading Business Intelligence solutions for recent Microsoft product releases
  • Experience administering, upgrading, and migrating Visual Studio 2022+ and TFS
  • Experience translating business requirements into effective BI solutions
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and experience developing web forms in .NET
  • Knowledge of SQL Server database performance tuning, optimization, and security
  • Strong oral and written presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work on difficult and complex problems under pressure and tight timelines
